Chris Thomson - Fibre Arts

Chris learned to spin and weave over 20 years ago in Australia and has been exploring ever since. She brings a contemporary 'spin' to all her work, preserving these heritage crafts in today's context. From her home overlooking the Bras d'Or Lakes, she hand spins natural fibre yarns for knitting and weaving, and produces knitting kits for custom designed hats, scarves, booties and more. Chris also weaves one of a kind scarves, throws, wall hangings and other textiles. Her new line of handwoven custom-made, heirloom-quality hammocks in luxuriant colours with rich wood accents will brighten any garden, veranda or deck.
